- Heat-mediated antigen retrieval using sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended for paraffin sections.
- Suggested positive control for IHC: tonsil or spleen.
- For FACS analysis: use 10 µL of the working dilution to label 1×10^6 cells in 100 µL.
- Mouse anti-Human CD151 antibody (clone 11G5a) recognizes the human CD151 cell surface antigen (also known as PETA-3).
- CD151 is expressed in epithelial cells, endothelial cells, platelets, megakaryocytes, monocytes, renal glomeruli, and proximal/distal tubules.
Target Information
CD151 encodes a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily (tetraspanin family). These cell-surface proteins contain four hydrophobic domains and mediate signal transduction related to cell development, activation, growth, and motility.
CD151 forms complexes with integrins and other tetraspanins, influencing cell adhesion and integrin trafficking/function. It enhances cell motility, invasion, and metastasis in cancer cells. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described.
