Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages include:

  • Improved specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal origin-free formulation
  • Broader immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire

Target Information

This gene encodes a protein belonging to the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family. Sequential activation of caspases is crucial in the execution phase of apoptosis. Caspases exist as inactive proenzymes that undergo proteolytic processing at conserved aspartic residues to form active enzyme dimers.
Caspase-3 cleaves and activates caspases 6, 7, and 9 and is itself processed by caspases 8, 9, and 10. It plays a predominant role in amyloid-beta precursor protein cleavage, associated with neuronal death in Alzheimer’s disease. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding the same protein.
