Reconstitute the lyophilized powder with deionized water (or equivalent) to an antibody concentration of 0.5 mg/mL.

Glutamine synthetase is an enzyme essential for nitrogen metabolism, catalyzing the condensation of glutamate and ammonia to form glutamine.
Its activity serves as a marker for astrocytes and plays a key role in retinal differentiation.
This antibody was developed in rabbit using a KLH-coupled synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 300–350 of human Glutamine Synthetase (Swiss Prot: P15104).


Target Information

Glutamine synthase belongs to the glutamine synthetase family.
Ammonia incorporation in animals occurs through the actions of glutamate dehydrogenase and glutamine synthase.
Glutamate serves as both a nitrogen donor and acceptor and regulates neurotransmitter metabolism.
GS activity is controlled by adenylylation and is reduced in Alzheimer’s disease and under glucose deprivation conditions.
