Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Target Information

AIPL1 (Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Interacting Protein-Like 1) is a tetratricopeptide repeat protein associated with Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA), an autosomal recessive disorder affecting photoreceptor development. AIPL1 shares high homology with ARA9, a co-chaperone involved in HSP90-mediated nuclear translocation of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor. It forms part of a chaperone complex interacting with Hsp90 and Hsp70, and associates with NUB1, a cell cycle regulator. AIPL1 cooperates with Hsp70 to suppress NUB1 inclusion formation, essential for normal photoreceptor maturation. Mutations disrupting these interactions can lead to LCA. At least three isoforms of AIPL1 are known.
