Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody ALY7 recognizes mouse LYVE-1, a transmembrane glycoprotein similar to CD44. LYVE-1 is expressed on lymphatic and liver endothelial cells and some macrophages. It contains a conserved hyaluronan binding domain and functions as a receptor for hyaluronan (HA).
LYVE-1 is a key marker for lymphatic endothelial cells, along with podoplanin, PROX-1, Tie-2, and VEGFR-3. Although LYVE-1 binds HA in vitro, its binding site may be masked in vivo by glycan chains, requiring modification for ligand interaction.

Target Information

LYVE1 is a major receptor for hyaluronan (HA) on lymph vessel walls. It encodes a 322-residue type I integral membrane glycoprotein with a 212-residue extracellular domain containing a Link module, similar to CD44.
Unlike CD44, LYVE1 colocalizes with HA on lymphatic vessel luminal surfaces and is absent in blood vessels, making it a specific lymphatic marker.
LYVE-1 plays a role in leukocyte and tumor cell trafficking to lymph nodes and serves as a marker for lymphatic endothelium.
Diseases associated with LYVE1 dysfunction include Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome.
