Product Specific Information

The eBioSAM-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human integrin alpha 5 (CD49e), also known as fibronectin receptor alpha chain and very late activation antigen 5 alpha. Integrins are composed of alpha and beta chains that associate non-covalently to form functional heterodimers involved in cell adhesion and signaling.

Integrin alpha 5 undergoes post-translational cleavage to form disulfide-linked light and heavy chains that join with Integrin beta 1 (CD29) to form the fibronectin receptor (VLA-5 complex). It is expressed on thymocytes, T cells, monocytes, platelets, early and activated B cells.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.125 µg)/test.
A test is defined as staining a 100 µL cell sample (10^5–10^8 cells/test).
Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 519 nm; Laser: Blue Laser.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.


Target Information

This gene encodes the integrin alpha 5 chain, a component of heterodimeric membrane proteins involved in adhesion and signal transduction. The alpha 5 chain forms disulfide-linked light and heavy chains that join with beta 1 to form the fibronectin receptor.
