Product Specific Information
Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as a ~150 kDa band and upon reduction generates a ~25 kDa light chain and a ~50 kDa heavy chain.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- High specificity and sensitivity
- Excellent lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to large rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
PAI1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor 1) belongs to the serine protease inhibitor superfamily and is the principal inhibitor of tissue-type and urokinase-type plasminogen activators (tPA and uPA).
Platelets are the main source of circulating PAI1, but it is also synthesized by fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, endothelial cells, hepatocytes, and inflammatory cells.
Expression of PAI1 is regulated by multiple factors including growth factors, cytokines, hormones, inflammatory stimuli, metabolites, and environmental conditions. Elevated PAI1 levels are associated with disease states such as obesity, thrombophilia, and metabolic syndrome. Defects in PAI1 can lead to abnormal bleeding and fibrinolysis inhibition.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms of PAI1 have been identified.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
