Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems clone specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, followed by screening to select optimal clones for production.

Target Information
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) binds to the EGF Receptor (EGFR), a 170 kDa protein kinase. Activation of EGFR triggers multiple cellular signaling pathways in response to environmental stimuli. EGFR forms homo- or heterodimers, each initiating distinct signaling cascades via recruitment of SH2-containing effector proteins.
EGF is expressed in kidney, cerebrum, prostate, and salivary glands and functions as a potent mitogenic factor. The phosphorylated receptor recruits adapter proteins such as GRB2, activating downstream signaling cascades including:
- RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK
- PI3K-AKT
- PLCγ-PKC
- STAT modules
EGF may also activate the NF-κB signaling pathway. Defects in the EGF gene are associated with hypomagnesemia type 4 and dysregulation linked to certain cancers.
