Description:
The 1RELAH5 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse c-Rel, a 65 kDa hematopoietic lineage-restricted member of the NF-κB family of transcription factors. In the thymus, c-Rel is upregulated in regulatory T cells (Treg) compared to other CD4+ thymocytes. It plays a critical role in thymic Treg (nTreg) development but is not required for TGF-β-mediated iTreg differentiation. c-Rel is also involved in proliferation and survival of mature T cells.

This antibody has been reported for use in Western blotting.
Applications Tested:
Tested by Western blot analysis of mouse splenocytes at 1–5 µg/mL. Optimal dilution should be determined experimentally.
Purity: Greater than 90%, determined by SDS-PAGE.
Aggregation: Less than 10%, determined by HPLC.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
The REL gene encodes c-Rel, a transcription factor belonging to the Rel/NF-κB family, which includes RELA, RELB, NFKB1, and NFKB2. These proteins share a conserved N-terminal Rel domain, responsible for DNA binding, dimerization, nuclear localization, and binding to NF-κB inhibitors (Belguise and Sonenshein, 2007).
