This V3RT1GOsz monoclonal antibody recognizes mouse Tmem119 and has been successfully used in flow cytometry.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse brain cells after myelin removal. Recommended ≤ 0.125 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number should be empirically determined (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.
Target Information
Tmem119 encodes a single-pass type I transmembrane protein interacting with various micro-RNAs and transcription factors (SMAD1, SMAD5, RUNX2).
It serves as a microglial surface marker distinguishing microglia from infiltrating macrophages.
Microglia are brain-restricted phagocytes involved in debris clearance and neuronal pruning, exhibiting high functional plasticity. Reactive microglia co-express Iba1 and contribute to neurodegenerative disease pathology (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, Multiple Sclerosis) through inflammatory signaling (Cq1, IL-1α, TNF).
Outside the nervous system, Tmem119 is implicated in osteoblast differentiation and ossification.
