Reconstitute the lyophilized antibody with deionized water (or equivalent) to a final concentration of 0.5 mg/mL.
The c-Myc protein is a transcription factor encoded by the c-Myc gene on human chromosome 8q24. It is commonly activated in tumor cells and plays key roles in cellular proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and cell cycle progression.
A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 410–419 of the human p62 c-Myc protein conjugated to KLH is used as the immunogen.
c-Myc-tag provides a method for localizing gene products in various cell types, studying protein topology and complexes, and identifying associated proteins.
This antibody is suitable for detecting c-Myc fusion proteins or native c-Myc expression levels across multiple immunoassays.
Target Information
Myc is a proto-oncogene encoding a nuclear phosphoprotein involved in cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and cellular transformation. The protein forms a heterodimer with MAX, binding to the E box DNA consensus sequence to regulate transcription of target genes.
Amplification of this gene is frequently observed in numerous human cancers. Translocations involving Myc are associated with Burkitt lymphoma and multiple myeloma.
Translation may initiate from both an upstream, in-frame non-AUG (CUG) and a downstream AUG start site, producing two isoforms with distinct N-termini.
