Target Information

RAG2 (V(D)J recombination-activating protein 2)는 RAG 복합체의 핵심 구성 요소로, V(D)J 재조합 과정에서 DNA 절단을 매개합니다. 이 과정은 B 및 T 림프구에서 다양한 면역글로불린 및 T세포 수용체 유전자의 조합을 가능하게 합니다.
DNA 절단은 두 단계로 이루어지며, 첫 번째 단계에서 heptamer 상류의 상단 가닥에 nick을 형성하고, 이후 직접적인 transesterification 반응을 통해 4개의 DNA 말단을 생성합니다.
RAG2는 촉매 활성을 직접 수행하지 않지만 RAG1에 의해 매개되는 모든 촉매 활동에 필수적입니다.
RAG2 유전자 변이는 심각한 복합 면역결핍증(SCID), Omenn 증후군 등 면역 관련 질환을 유발할 수 있습니다.
