PA1-43060 detects Protein Z in human samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot and ELISA applications.
The antibody was derived from human Protein Z.

Target Information

Protein Z (PROZ) is a vitamin K-dependent plasma glycoprotein, approximately 62 kDa in size and composed of 396 amino acids.
It contains four domains: a Gla-rich region, two EGF-like domains, and a trypsin-like domain. Although structurally related to serine proteases (factors VII, IX, X, and protein C), Protein Z lacks the catalytic serine residue and is not enzymatically active.

Protein Z participates in the coagulation cascade by facilitating the degradation of factor Xa through the protein Z-related protease inhibitor (ZPI). This reaction is accelerated in the presence of Protein Z. Deficiency in Protein Z has been associated with both thrombosis and bleeding disorders, though the physiological mechanisms remain under study.
