Predicted molecular weight: approximately 150 kDa.
PA1-43065 was derived from mouse antithrombin.
Target Information
The SERPINC1 gene encodes a plasma protease inhibitor belonging to the serpin superfamily.
This protein inhibits thrombin and other activated serine proteases in the coagulation system, thereby regulating the blood coagulation cascade.
It contains two major functional domains:
- Heparin-binding domain at the N-terminus
- Reactive site domain at the C-terminus
The inhibitory activity is enhanced in the presence of heparin.
Over 120 mutations have been identified in this gene, many of which are associated with antithrombin-III deficiency.
