Target Information
EFNB3, a member of the ephrin gene family, plays a crucial role in brain development and maintenance. High EFNB3 expression levels in several forebrain subregions suggest its pivotal role in forebrain function.
EPH and EPH-related receptors form the largest subfamily of receptor protein-tyrosine kinases, mediating developmental events, particularly in the nervous system.
EPH receptors have a single kinase domain and an extracellular region with a Cys-rich domain and two fibronectin type III repeats.
Ephrins are classified into ephrin-A (EFNA) and ephrin-B (EFNB) classes based on their membrane anchoring and structural characteristics. Ephrin-A proteins are GPI-anchored, while ephrin-B proteins are transmembrane.
