Target Information
FAM173B is a 233 amino acid single-pass membrane protein encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 5, which represents approximately 6% of human genomic DNA and contains around 1,000 genes. It is associated with various genetic conditions, including Cockayne syndrome (ERCC8 gene), familial adenomatous polyposis (APC gene), and Treacher Collins syndrome (TCOF1 gene). Deletion of the p arm of chromosome 5 results in cri du chat syndrome, while deletions of 5q or the entire chromosome 5 are common in therapy-related acute myelogenous leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome.
