Target Information
Connexin 43 (Cx43)는 갭 접합 단백질 패밀리에 속하는 단백질로, 헥사머 형태로 조립되어 세포막에 운반된 후 인접 세포 간의 채널을 형성합니다. 이러한 채널의 군집은 갭 접합(gap junction)을 형성하며, 이는 세포 간 통신, 세포 성장 조절, 심장 수축의 동기화 및 배아 발달에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
Cx43의 인산화는 갭 접합의 조립 및 기능 조절에 관여하며, PKC에 의해 Ser368이 인산화되면 세포 간 통신이 감소합니다. 또한 Src 단백질이 Cx43을 인산화하여 갭 접합 기능을 조절할 수 있습니다.
Connexin 43은 심장에서 주요 갭 접합 단백질로 작용하며, 여러 단백질 키나아제에 의해 조절됩니다. 관련된 인트론이 없는 Connexin 43 유사 유전자(GJA1P)는 염색체 5번에 위치합니다. GFAP 유전자 변이는 X-linked Charcot-Marie-Tooth 병, oculodentodigital dysplasia 및 심장 기형과 관련이 있습니다. GFAP의 대체 스플라이싱 전사체도 보고되었습니다.
