Product Specific Information

The TER-119 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse erythroid cells from early proerythroblast to mature erythrocyte stages. The TER-119 antigen is present in yolk sac, fetal and newborn liver, but is not expressed by cells carrying BFU-E and CFU-E activities. Several erythroleukemia cell lines tested are negative for TER-119 antigen expression even after dimethylsulfoxide stimulation. Biochemical and molecular analysis indicates association with surface glycophorin A, though it is not a typical glycophorin.

Applications Tested: Tested on mouse bone marrow cells at ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.

Target Information

TER-119 is a lineage marker for erythroid cells from early proerythroblast to mature erythrocyte stages in adult blood, spleen, and bone marrow. It is also present in yolk sac, and fetal and newborn liver. It is not expressed by BFU-e or CFU-e stage cells.
