Product Specific Information

The eBioCB-CALLA monoclonal antibody recognizes human CD10 (CALLA, NEP, enkephalinase, Neprilysin), a 100 kDa type II cell surface glycoprotein originally identified for its expression on most acute lymphoblastic leukemias (ALL). CD10 is a Zn²⁺-dependent metallo-peptidase that regulates chemotactic and inflammatory processes involving neutrophils and stromal cell-dependent B lymphopoiesis.

Target Information

CD10 (Common Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia Antigen, CALLA) is a neutral metalloendopeptidase that inactivates various biologically active peptides. It is expressed on lymphoblastic, Burkitt’s, and follicular germinal center lymphomas, immature B cells, breast myoepithelial cells, bile canaliculi, fibroblasts, and highly on kidney and gut epithelial brush borders.

CD10 cleaves peptides at the amino side of hydrophobic residues and inactivates peptide hormones such as glucagon, enkephalins, substance P, neurotensin, oxytocin, and bradykinin. It is a 100 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein with four mRNA transcripts due to alternative splicing. Diseases associated with CD10 dysfunction include spinocerebellar ataxia 43 and Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease.
