Solute carrier family 25, member 39 (SLC25A39), also known as CGI-69, consists of 318 amino acids encoded by a gene with 11 exons located on human chromosome 17.
SLC family proteins are abundantly expressed in the central nervous system (CNS). Members of the SLC25 family share features such as a tripartite structure, six transmembrane α-helices, and three repeated signature motifs.
SLC25A39 (CGI-69) transcripts are widely expressed in human testis and kidney.
