Tenascin-N belongs to the tenascin protein family. The protein is characterized with cysteine-rich stretch, 3.5 epidermal growth factor-like repeats, 12 fibronectin type III homologous domains, and a fibrinogen-like domain. TNN protein is expressed in all brain parts. Tenascin-N (TNN) plays a vital role in neurite outgrowth and cell migration in hippocampal explants.
