• AA Sequence: Discontinued
• Preparation: Produced in BALB/c mice immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human TGF-beta1. Anti-Human TGF-beta1-specific antibody was purified from tissue culture supernatant by Protein G affinity chromatography.
• Western Blot: For detection of Human TGF-beta1, use at 2.0–4.0 µg/mL. Detection limit for Recombinant Human TGF-beta1 is 0.25–0.50 ng/lane under reducing and non-reducing conditions when used with compatible secondary reagents.

Target Information

TGF beta-1 (TGFB1, Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1) is a cytokine belonging to the transforming growth factor beta superfamily, found ubiquitously in tissues. It is stored in the extracellular matrix as a latent complex with its pro-domain and activated through interaction with integrins. Latent forms consist of TGF beta-1, the latency-associated peptide (LAP), and latent TGF-beta binding proteins (LTBPs). TGF beta-1 regulates proliferation, differentiation, adhesion, and migration across various cell types. It can exist in latent or active homodimeric forms, and also form heterodimers with other TGF beta family members. Mutations in the TGFB1 gene are associated with Camurati-Engelmann disease and cystic fibrosis, and the gene is often upregulated in tumor cells.
