Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Six5 (homeobox protein SIX5), also known as SIX5, BOR2 or DMAHP, is a transcription factor expressed in various structures of the adult eye.
During development, it localizes to the cytoplasm early and the nucleus later, regulating organogenesis and retinal formation.
Six5 binds the 5'-TCA[AG][AG]TTNC-3' DNA sequence found in the myogenin and IGFBP5 promoters, controlling transcription of associated mRNA.
It interacts with DACH1 and is co-activated by EYA proteins.
Mutations in Six5 cause branchio-oto-renal syndrome type 2 (BOR2), characterized by hearing loss, deep overbite, and myopia.
Two isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
