Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).


Target Information

CYB561D2 (Cytochrome b561 domain-containing protein 2), also known as putative tumor suppressor protein 101F6, is a 222-amino-acid, highly hydrophobic protein containing six membrane-spanning domains. It is localized to endosomes and the endoplasmic reticulum in the perinuclear region and contains two heme-binding sites that reduce ferric ions.
CYB561D2 is ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels in lung, liver, and kidney. Expression is abundant in normal lung bronchial epithelial cells but absent in most lung cancers. The CYB561D2 gene maps to human chromosome 3p21.3, a region prone to genetic alterations and frequent allele loss in many human cancers.
Exogenous expression of CYB561D2 induces caspase-independent apoptotic and autophagic pathways, synergistically killing tumor cells, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment.
