Target Information
FLT3 is a tyrosine protein kinase belonging to the growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase family. Activation occurs via binding of the FLT3 ligand to its extracellular domain, inducing homodimer formation and receptor autophosphorylation. The activated receptor phosphorylates and activates multiple cytoplasmic effector molecules involved in apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells in bone marrow. Constitutive activation mutations of FLT3 are associated with acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
