Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody SolA15 recognizes mouse and rat Ki-67, a 300 kDa nuclear protein present during all active phases of the cell cycle (G1, S, G2, and mitosis) but absent in resting cells (G0). Ki-67 serves as a marker for determining the growth fraction of cell populations and is used in tumor proliferation studies.

The SolA15 antibody also recognizes human, non-human primate, and canine Ki-67.
It has been validated for intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis of stimulated mouse splenocytes using the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product #00-5523-00).

Recommended usage: ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Optimal titration is recommended for best performance.

Fluorophore information:
Alexa Fluor 660 emits at 690 nm and is suitable for use on spectral cytometers.

Target Information

Ki-67 is a nuclear protein expressed during late G1, S, G2, and M phases of the cell cycle. It associates with euchromatin at the perichromosomal layer, centromeric heterochromatin, and nucleolus via its FHA domain.
Ki-67 is widely used as a proliferation marker since it is absent in G0 cells and increases from G1 through mitosis. It is valuable in determining tumor growth fractions and correlates with tumor grade and prognosis.
