Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
PIK3CG (p110 gamma) is the sole class IB phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase family member, which, along with class IA members, generates the second messenger PIP2. Unlike class IA enzymes that signal downstream of receptor tyrosine kinases, PIK3CG primarily signals downstream of GPCRs.
It phosphorylates phosphoinositides on the 3-hydroxyl group of the inositol ring and modulates extracellular signals such as those from E-cadherin-mediated cell-cell adhesion, maintaining epithelial integrity.
Additionally, PIK3CG plays a role in NK cell cytotoxicity regulation and is located in a commonly deleted segment of chromosome 7 associated with myeloid leukemias.
