Product Specific Information
This antibody detects recombinant human PILR-beta in direct ELISAs and Western blots.
In Western blots, approximately 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human PILR-alpha is observed and less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse (rm) PILR-beta, rmPILR-alpha, and rmPILR-L is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Paired receptors consist of highly related activating and inhibitory receptors involved in immune regulation. PILRB functions as an activating receptor associating with ITAM-bearing adapter molecules on the cell surface.
Cell signaling pathways depend on the balance between activating and inhibiting processes. SHP-1-mediated dephosphorylation of tyrosine residues plays a central regulatory role.
PILRalpha mediates inhibition, while PILRbeta mediates activation. These paired receptor genes are tandemly arranged on chromosome 7.
This gene encodes the non-ITIM-bearing activating receptor variant with a truncated cytoplasmic tail. Alternative splicing yields multiple isoforms.
