Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody CC1 recognizes CD66a (CEACAM1), also known as carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1, biliary glycoprotein, and BPG.
Expression of CD66a is found on brush borders, epithelial, and endothelial cells. In hematopoietic cells, expression is abundant on B cells, NK cells, monocytes, dendritic cells, and granulocytes.
Resting mouse T lymphocytes do not express CD66a, as confirmed by lack of staining with CC1 antibody. In humans, CD66a expression levels have been used to identify malignancies and play a key role in regulating BCR activation in B lymphocytes.

An alternate allele, CEACAM1b, is expressed in SJL mice; therefore, CC1 does not stain SJL tissue.
The CC1 clone has been shown to block viral infection and enhance B cell proliferation when combined with IgM crosslinking.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes (≤0.125 µg/test).
A test is defined as the amount of antibody that will stain a cell sample in 100 µL final volume. Recommended to titrate for optimal performance.

Light Sensitivity: PE-Cyanine7 is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and samples from light.
Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-57) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.

Target Information

CEACAM1 is a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) gene family within the immunoglobulin superfamily.
It functions as a cell-cell adhesion molecule expressed on leukocytes, epithelia, and endothelia.
CEACAM1 mediates homophilic and heterophilic binding and is involved in tissue organization, angiogenesis, apoptosis, tumor suppression, metastasis, and immune modulation.
Multiple transcript variants and isoforms have been identified.
