Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD86 is one of two ligands (the other being CD80) for CTLA4 and CD28. It functions as a costimulatory molecule in T-cell activation during antigen presentation.
Insufficient co-stimulation via CD86/CD80 can lead to immune tolerance.
CD86 is a type I membrane protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily and is expressed by antigen-presenting cells.
It binds to CD28 antigen and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4) on T cells, providing stimulatory or inhibitory signals, respectively.
Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants.
Dysfunction of CD86 has been associated with gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
