For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD86 is one of two ligands (the other being CD80) for CTLA4 and CD28. It functions as a costimulatory molecule in T-cell activation during antigen presentation.
Inadequate co-stimulation via CD86/CD80 can induce immune tolerance. CD86, a type I membrane protein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, is expressed by antigen-presenting cells and binds to CD28 and CTLA4 on T cells.
Binding to CD28 provides a costimulatory signal for T-cell activation, while binding to CTLA4 inhibits T-cell activation, modulating immune responses.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
CD86 dysfunction has been associated with gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
