For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments with carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

CD86 is one of two ligands (the other being CD80) for CTLA4 and CD28. It acts as a costimulatory molecule during antigen presentation, facilitating T-cell activation.
Inadequate co-stimulation involving CD86/CD80 can induce tolerance. CD86 is a type I membrane protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, expressed by antigen-presenting cells.
It binds CD28 and CTLA4 on T cells — the CD28 interaction activates T cells, while the CTLA4 interaction inhibits activation and modulates immune response.
Alternative splicing yields two isoforms of CD86, with additional variants reported but not fully characterized.
Dysfunction of CD86 has been associated with gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
