Product Specific Information

1 µg/mL of MA5-45391 was sufficient for detection of Cav1.3 in 10 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 250 kDa. No cross-reactivity against Cav1.2.


Target Information

CACNA1D, also known as PASNA, SANDD, or Cav1.3, encodes the alpha-1D subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channels. These channels mediate calcium ion entry into excitable cells and are involved in muscle contraction, hormone and neurotransmitter release, and gene expression. Calcium channels are composed of alpha-1, beta, alpha-2/delta, and gamma subunits, with the alpha-1 subunit forming the pore and determining channel properties. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing of the alpha-1 subunit gene.
