Mouse anti-Bovine Interleukin-10 antibody, clone CC318 recognizes bovine IL-10.
This antibody has been shown not to inhibit the biological activity of IL-10.
Target Information
IL-10 encodes a cytokine primarily produced by monocytes and some lymphocytes.
It plays a key role in immunoregulation and inflammation by:
- Down-regulating Th1 cytokines, MHC class II antigens, and costimulatory molecules on macrophages
- Enhancing B cell survival, proliferation, and antibody production
- Blocking NF-kappa B activity
- Regulating the JAK-STAT signaling pathway
Knockout studies in mice indicate IL-10 is essential for intestinal immune regulation.
Mutations in IL10 are linked to increased susceptibility to HIV-1 infection and rheumatoid arthritis.
Associated diseases include Graft-Versus-Host Disease and Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1.
