Target Information
Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK) belongs to the insulin receptor superfamily and is vital for brain development. Mutations, rearrangements, and amplifications in the ALK gene are associated with tumors such as anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, and non-small cell lung cancer. Chromosomal rearrangement commonly results in a fusion gene combining ALK and the nucleophosmin (NPM) gene, forming the oncogenic NPM-ALK fusion protein. ALK is a receptor protein-tyrosine kinase with transmembrane and extracellular domains, showing high similarity to LTK, and plays a critical role in neuronal development.
