Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK)는 insulin receptor superfamily에 속하며, 뇌 발달에 중요한 역할을 합니다. ALK 유전자의 돌연변이, 재배열, 증폭은 다양한 종양(예: anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, non-small cell lung cancer)에서 발견됩니다. 가장 흔한 유전적 변화는 염색체 재배열이며, 이는 ALK 유전자와 nucleophosmin (NPM) 유전자의 융합으로 이루어진 NPM-ALK fusion gene을 생성합니다. 이 융합 단백질은 종양 유발성을 가지며, ALK 단백질은 LTK와 높은 서열 유사성을 보입니다.
