Target Information
Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK) belongs to the insulin receptor superfamily and plays a vital role in brain development. Mutations, rearrangements, and amplifications in the ALK gene have been associated with tumors such as anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, and non-small cell lung cancer. Chromosomal rearrangement commonly leads to the formation of a fusion gene between ALK and the nucleophosmin (NPM) gene, resulting in an oncogenic NPM-ALK fusion protein. ALK shares high sequence similarity with LTK and is important for neuronal development and signaling in the nervous system.
