Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine IL-6. Anti-Murine IL-6-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
For detection of Murine IL-6, use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody (100 µL/well). When paired with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine IL-6 (500-P56) as the capture antibody, detects at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine IL-6.

Western Blot:
For detection of Murine IL-6, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody. Detection limit is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B cell maturation. It acts as an endogenous pyrogen and is secreted at sites of acute and chronic inflammation, inducing a transcriptional inflammatory response via the interleukin-6 receptor alpha. Elevated IL-6 levels are associated with autoimmune diseases, infections (including COVID-19), diabetes mellitus susceptibility, and systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Diseases linked to IL-6 include Kaposi Sarcoma and Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Juvenile.
