Product Specific Information
The HIS52 monoclonal antibody reacts with a molecule expressed on the surface of all rat endothelial cells, known as Rat Endothelium Cell Antigen-1 (RECA-1). The exact nature of the HIS52 antigen is not known. HIS52 does not cross-react with other species tested besides rat, making it a specific phenotypic marker for rat endothelium.
Applications Reported:
The HIS52 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis and immunohistochemical staining of frozen tissue sections. No reactivity was observed in immunoblotting of PAGE-run lysates from endothelial cell cultures or stromal cell preparations.
Applications Tested:
Tested by immunohistochemistry of rat frozen sections and can be used at 1–10 µg/mL. It is recommended to titrate the antibody for optimal performance in each assay.

Target Information
RECA-1 is a cell surface antigen expressed by all rat endothelial cells. The endothelium forms the inner lining of blood vessels, acting as an interface between circulating blood and the vessel wall. Endothelial cells line the entire circulatory system, from the heart to the smallest capillaries.
