Product Specific Information

1 µg/mL of MA5-45468 was sufficient for detection of Beta 3 GABA receptor in 10 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Detects approximately 55 kDa. No cross-reactivity against GABA-A-R-Beta 2 or -Beta 1.

Target Information

Gamma-amino butyric acid (GABA) is a strong inhibitor of neuronal transmission and is found throughout the central nervous system. GABA is formed by the decarboxylation of glutamate, resulting in two distinct receptor types: GABA-A and GABA-B.
Binding of GABA to GABA-A receptors increases chloride ion transport into neurons, leading to signal repression. Insufficient GABA-mediated signaling can result in system overloads causing blackouts, rapid contractions, seizures, and epilepsy.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
