Product Specific Information

1 µg/mL of MA5-45469 was sufficient for detection of Nav1.8 in 10 µg of COS cell lysate transiently expressing Nav1.8 by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 220 kDa. No cross-reactivity against other Nav channels.

Target Information

Scn10a is a tetrodotoxin-resistant voltage-gated sodium channel alpha subunit. It mediates voltage-dependent sodium ion permeability in excitable membranes and plays a role in neuropathic pain mechanisms. Members of the Deg/ENaC superfamily share structural similarity with two short intracellular termini, two membrane-spanning segments, and a large extracellular loop with a conserved cysteine-rich region.

ENaC proteins (alpha, beta, gamma) are essential for sodium and fluid balance in kidney, lung, and colon, and are regulated partly through association with CFTR chloride channels. Mutations in ENaC subunits are associated with conditions such as Liddle’s syndrome and pseudohypoaldosteronism (PHA-1). Diseases linked to SCN10A include Episodic Pain Syndrome, Familial 2, and Sodium Channelopathy-Related Small Fiber Neuropathy.
