The BVD6-24G2 antibody reacts with mouse interleukin-4 (IL-4), a 14 kDa cytokine secreted by Th2 cells.
Reported applications include intracellular flow cytometric analysis.
Tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of restimulated mouse splenocyte cultures.
Recommended usage: ≤ 0.5 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration is advised for best results.
Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 520 nm; Laser: Blue Laser.
Post-manufacturing filtration: 0.2 µm.
Target Information
Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic, immune-modulatory cytokine produced by activated T cells and acts as a ligand for the IL-4 receptor.
IL-4 and IL-13 share overlapping functions through receptor binding.
STAT6 mediates IL-4 signaling and immune regulation.
The IL-4 gene is part of a cytokine cluster on chromosome 5q, near IL-13 and IL-5, regulated by long-range elements over ~120 kb.
A splice variant, IL-4 delta 2, is known.
