Target Information
p19 is a member of the INK4 family of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors. It forms a stable complex with CDK4 or CDK6 and prevents activation of CDK kinases, functioning as a cell growth regulator controlling G1 phase progression. Expression oscillates during the cell cycle, lowest at mid G1 and highest during S phase. It negatively regulates neuronal proliferation and spermatogenesis.
