Product Specific Information

Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is breast carcinoma tissue.


Target Information

Cytokeratin 8 is a member of the type II keratin family located on chromosome 12. Type I and II keratins form intermediate filaments in epithelial cells.
Cytokeratin 8 typically dimerizes with keratin 18 to form filaments in simple epithelial cells.
It contributes to cellular structural integrity, signal transduction, and differentiation.
Mutations in this gene are associated with cryptogenic cirrhosis.
