Product Specific Information
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is tonsil tissue.
Target Information
J chain is a small glycopeptide synthesized by plasma cells secreting polymeric immunoglobulins.
It is linked to IgA and IgM by disulfide bonds and has also been detected in IgG- and IgD-containing cells.
J chains are abundant in immunoglobulin-positive cells in germinal centers of tonsil and lymph node.
B cells secrete J chain early in differentiation, and its expression persists in cells destined to produce IgA or IgM.
