Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody HP-F1 recognizes CD85j (ILT2, LILRB1, LIR1), a member of the ILT/LIR/MIR receptor family.
CD85j is a transmembrane glycoprotein with a cytoplasmic domain containing four ITIMs that signal via SHP-1. It is expressed on myeloid cells (monocytes, dendritic cells) and some lymphoid subsets (NK, T, B cells). Expression correlates with leukemias (ALL, CLL) and viral infections (HIV, EBV, CMV). Ligands include MHC Class I molecules (HLA-G, A, F, B27, E, F).

The HP-F1 antibody reduces CD16-dependent cytolytic activity of NK cells.

Target Information

This gene belongs to the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family located at chromosomal region 19q13.4.
It encodes a receptor with extracellular Ig domains, a transmembrane region, and cytoplasmic ITIM motifs that deliver inhibitory signals upon binding to MHC class I molecules.
These receptors regulate immune activation, control inflammation, and limit autoreactivity. Multiple transcript variants exist.
