Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from mouse ascites by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene shows sequence similarity to members of the WD40 repeat-containing protein family, which are known to mediate protein–protein interactions. These proteins are involved in signal transduction, RNA processing, gene regulation, vesicular trafficking, and cytoskeletal assembly, and may play a role in cytotypic differentiation.
This encoded protein is found as a subunit in the corepressor SMRT (silencing mediator for retinoid and thyroid receptors) complex along with histone deacetylase 3. The gene is located adjacent to the ocular albinism gene and may be involved in the pathogenesis of ocular albinism with late-onset sensorineural deafness. Four transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been identified. The gene is highly similar to the Y chromosome TBL1Y gene.
