Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from mouse ascites by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
LSD1 (lysine-specific demethylase 1) is a histone demethylase that specifically demethylates Lys-4 of histone H3, a marker for epigenetic transcriptional activation, thereby acting as a corepressor.
LSD1 contains a SWIRM domain, a FAD-binding motif, and an amine oxidase domain. It functions as part of histone deacetylase complexes and silences genes by demethylation.
It requires RCOR1/CoREST for demethylation activity on nucleosomes and may also demethylate Lys-9 of histone H3, leading to derepression of androgen receptor target genes.
Mutations in LSD1 can cause cleft palate, psychomotor retardation, and distinctive facial features.
