Product Specific Information

The II/41 monoclonal antibody reacts with the µ heavy chain of mouse IgM and does not react with other classes of mouse immunoglobulin (IgD, IgG, IgA).
IgM is expressed intracellularly during early B lymphopoiesis and on the surface of mature B cells in bone marrow and peripheral tissues.
Fluorochrome-conjugated II/41 can be used as a detection secondary for mouse IgM.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis, immunohistochemical staining of frozen tissue sections, and ELISA.
Applications Tested: Verified for flow cytometric analysis of mouse spleen cell suspension (≤1 µg/test, 100 µL final volume).
Cell number may vary (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test); antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

Mouse IgM is an immunoglobulin M antibody produced by B cells in response to antigens.
It is the first antibody produced during an immune response and is the largest immunoglobulin in serum.
Composed of five heavy and five light chains, it is involved in complement activation and antigen agglutination.
Mouse IgM plays a key role in innate immunity and is used in ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry research.
