This antibody detects endogenous ATP5I protein at a molecular weight of approximately 8 kDa.
Purity is >95% by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Mitochondrial ATP synthases (ATPases) transduce the energy contained in membrane electrochemical proton gradients into the energy required for synthesis of high-energy phosphate bonds.
ATPases consist of two linked complexes:
- F1 complex: Hydrophilic catalytic core
- F0 complex: Membrane-embedded protein channel
These complexes are connected by a central stalk and a peripheral stalk. During catalysis, ATP synthesis in the F1 catalytic domain is coupled, via a rotary mechanism of the central stalk subunits, with proton translocation across the membrane.
ATP5I, also known as mitochondrial ATP synthase subunit E or ATP5K, is a 69-amino-acid protein localized to the inner mitochondrial membrane and forms part of the F0 complex.
